Carlos is a member of the AKA Wine Geek team headed by Steve Olson and Andy SeymoreA Proctor for Bar Smarts, an introduction to Bar Academy. He is also a member of the United States Bartenders Guild, San Francisco Chapter. He is currently the bar Manager at Absinthe Brasserie. He is frequently featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, 7X7 Magazine and San Francisco magazine and other national publications. He took 1st place at the 2008 Santé Magazine Iron Bar Chef competition and 1st place 2008 Northern California regional United States Bar Tenders Guild Competition. He placed 3rd in the 60th Annual United States Bartenders Guild National Competition. He frequently participates in other local San Francisco competitions. He has built and designed bars including the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant, A-16, Range, The Grand Pu Bah, and Pacific Catch. He is also a Cocktail consultant.
