Brooke Arthur

BROOKE ARTHUR

Brooke Arthur first learned about the art of the cocktail by serving hundreds of them as a waitress. The Chico, California native started out her industry career working in South Lake Tahoe and Santa Rosa before settling in San Francisco. At the esteemed Redwood Room, Arthur received her first mixology lessons from luminaries like Duggan McDonnell, Erik Carlson, Carlos Yturria, and Dominic Venegas.

From there, Arthur worked at Umami and Range, where she ultimately spent over two years as the Bar Manager developing a following of customers smitten with her seasonal, creative approach. She left to open Prospect where she created a cocktail list and bar program that nicely reflected the posh tone and spirit of the restaurant.

More recently, Arthur opened Wo Hing General Store, a new bar with a stellar team and a very different menu. There she paired Charles Phan’s spicy Chinese food with fun and whimsical cocktails like the ever-popular Pina Colada.

Currently Arthur is working on freelance and consulting projects, as well as part time with liqueur brand Cointreau. Her recent drink creations focus more on a lighter style of cocktails, working with fortified wines, vermouths, etc., while she continues to master the classics and create inventive riffs on them.
