Eye on the Bay’s SF Chefs Preview Series: Dough Beginnings
Presented by the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA)
Get up close with some of your favorite chefs at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market! This series of demos is hosted by Liam Mayclem of Eye on the Bay (CBS 5) and Foodie Chap (KCBS). San Francisco’s been known for sourdough bread since the Gold Rush and some local bakeries can even trace their starters back to 1849! Pros and dough novices alike will enjoy this class devoted to starters, the base for bread. Sour Flour’s Danny Gabriner will share how time, temperature, hydration, and expansion impact the starter as well as demonstrate how to shape dough into beautiful loaves of bread. Guests will take home everything they need to create a perfect loaf in their own oven.
