Location: Williams Sonoma

Two major chefs, one locally-prized crop. Gary Danko (Restaurant Gary Danko) and Joanne Weir (cookbook author and TV host), two of San Francisco's praised culinary personalities showcase the tomato as they prepare dishes with their distinct explorations of the ingredient led by Sunset’s Margo True.

3:30 p.m. desserts and sips with the Stars
Location: Monaco Hotel

Join Amanda Gold (San Francisco Chronicle) as Victoria D’Amato-Moran (mixologist, Cent’Anni Cocktails) and Emily Luchetti (Farallon/Waterbar) lead a duet demonstration. Taste seasonally-inspired sweets and cocktails in perfect pairings.

3:30 p.m. culinary luminaries
Location: The Westin St. Francis

Host Gene Burns of KGO Radio's Dining Around interviews Bay Area culinary legends. Pat Kuleto (Pat Kuleto Restaurants), Joyce Goldstein (cookbook author), and Cecelia Chiang (author, founder of the Mandarin) share their stories and adventures from their celebrated careers.

3:30 p.m. blind tasting with the masters
Location: Fifth Floor Restaurant & Lounge

Think you can taste with the pros? Take the sommelier challenge and test your taste buds with Reggie Narito MS (Southern Wine & Spirits), Emily Wines MS (Fifth Floor), David Glancy MS (Professional Culinary Institute) and the Guild of Sommeliers. This seminar will focus on blind-tasting techniques and give you a chance to impress your friends and exercise your palate at the same time.

3:30 p.m. sushi roll
Location: E&O Trading Co.

Roll up your sleeves and put your sushi skills to the test with Miwa Wang (True Sake), Andy Tonozuka (We Be Sushi) and moderator Amy Sherman (Cooking with Amy). Learn the how-to’s and techniques from celebrated Bay Area sushi chefs as they guide you through variations in this time-honored tradition. Taste the fruits of your practice alongside superb sakes, paired by a Master Sake Sommelier.

3:30 p.m. meat and greet
Location: The Hotel Monaco

How does “grass fed” affect flavor? Which wines compliment the smoky flavors in your perfectly grilled steak? Chef Jan Birnbaum (Epic Roasthouse), Sommelier Nicole Burke (Domaine Select) and Chef Thom Fox (ACME Chop House) discuss their take on sourcing, cooking, and pairing meats.

4 p.m. chocolate chronicles
Location: Kuleto's Restaurant

“There’s more to life than chocolate, but not right now.”
Indulge in this interactive chocolate experience with Alice Medrich (author, dessert specialist), Fran Gage (author, chocolate & olive oil expert), and Michael Recchiuti (Recchiuti Chocolate), and moderator Laura Compton (SF Chronicle). Learn about these expert's paths to one of life's guilty pleasures and tast their creations.

4 p.m. dynamic biodynamic wines
Location: The Westin St. Francis

Biodynamic farming, like its cousin, organics, is kinder to the land – and people – than conventional agriculture, but does it produce better wines? Meet growers and winemakers Paul Dolan (Mendocino Wine Co.), Ivo Jeramaz (Grgich Hills Estate), Virginia Lambrix (Truett-Hurst Vineyards & Winery), Rodrigo Soto (Benziger Family Winery). Join moderator Alder Yarrow (vinography.com) in tasting their wines and judge them for yourself.

4 p.m. green cocktails
Location: Hotel Monaco

It’s easy drinking green; explore how green bar practices can create a tastly cocktail with H. Joseph Ehrmann (Elixir), Scott Beattie (author, Artisanal Cocktails) and Thad Vogler (Bar Agricole). Organic ingredients and spirits, along with green business practices, create drinks which toast the health of the planet.

You’ve seen them on TV, now experience these personalities first hand in a culinary challenge. Watch as chefs Jamie Lauren (Top Chef) & Chris Cosentino (Iron Chef America) duke it out face-to-face in the kitchen. The winner receives Anolon Cookware Set. MICHAEL CHIARELLO WILL MODERATE AND TYLER FLORENCE, SARA MOULTON, JESSICA BATTILANA AND HUBERT KELLER WILL BE JUDGING THE COMPETITION.
